SMS Tuanku Syed Putra Rugby Team represents Sekolah Menengah Sains Tuanku Syed Putra (SMSTSP), a prestigious boarding school located in Kangar, Perlis — the northernmost state in Peninsular Malaysia. Named after the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Putra, the school carries a proud legacy and honour that its students strive to uphold both academically and in sports.

The rugby programme at SMSTSP has a strong and respected tradition. The team has demonstrated outstanding performance by winning the MSS Perlis Under-15 Championship for three consecutive years (2023, 2024, and 2025) — a remarkable achievement that reflects the team’s discipline, commitment, and quality development.

Building on this success, the team has also earned the opportunity to compete in Super Schools Rugby (SSR), one of the premier school-level rugby competitions in Malaysia. Participation in this elite tournament allows the players to compete at a higher level while continuing to develop the school’s proud rugby heritage.
